SWAB 2012
Swab Barcelona will gather around 60 galleries from around the world between May 23th and May 26th of 2012 in Barcelona. Swab brings together a carefully curated selection of participating international galleries, chosen because they focus on presenting works by younger, emerging, contemporary art stars – most of who were born after the 1970′s. Swab is a highly respected Art platform, built to give this new generation of artists the opportunity to have their work seen by members of the public, and the global art community, including: leading art collectors, dealers, press and curators. In return, Swab ensures that everyone is given the chance to enjoy these wonderful pieces, works that normally would not be accessible. Become a Swabber!

Swab Barcelona 2012 Best Gallery
Jarmuschek+Partner won a prize for the best gallery at Swab. This new award consists in the election, by a jury, of the Best Gallery at Swab Barcelona 2012, and the acquisition of a work of art from the winning gallery by Fundación Banco Sabadell. The collection of Fundación Banco Sabadell has over 6.000 works of national and international artists.

Mango Young Artist Award...
Nebojša Despotović is the winner of the “Mango Young Artist” Award at Swab Fair Barcelona 2012, with the artwork “Impronte sonore” (2011 - mixed media on paper on canvas, 140 x 200 cm). This work represents Venice, where the Serbian artist studied Painting and Visual Art. More works by this artist at Boccanera Gallery. We are proud to announce SWAB Barcelona Art Fair! Swab returns to Barcelona for its fifth year, once again growing in scale and reputation, with around 60 galleries from around the world signed up to participate, making Swab Barcelona 2012 bigger and better than ever before. Through collaboration with other International Art Fairs, such as Preview Berlin: The Emerging Art Fair, Swab Barcelona ensures every year the presence of some selected galleries from Germany, Italy, United Kingdom and United States. The four-day Art Fair and its satellite events fulfil a number of social objectives with a program that creates a cultural bridge between Catalunya and the rest of the world.
